How do we find the coolest couples?  Start with a cool bride!  Katie was not afraid to have fun, get dirty, or dance up a storm!  Mark was equally up to having a blast – if only to keep up with Katie!  This couple knew what was important: friends, family, plenty o’ drinks, and photography to capture it all. Their wedding location, at the historic Santa Margarita Ranch, was a country delight with the rolling hills, oaks, and rock-walled barn which held the reception and fun bootie-quaking (brought on by Todd Henry of AMS Entertainment.)

We have to say that the only part that really hurts about this profession is hearing, week after week, about all the cool places where our couples are going to honeymoon.  We’re both extremely happy and jealous at the same time!  Example: Katie and Mark are off to Argentina, exploring the visual deliciousness that is Patagonia.  See what we mean? But these two definitely deserve it– their hard work at having fun surely pays off. Their super fun engagement shoot proved that from the get-go.

applemoon photography, central coast weddings, paso robles

Jessica & Brian rocked our cameras. Maybe it started back in their fab engagement shoot when we rocked downtown SLO. Or maybe it’s the way Jessica is gifted with natural strike-a-pose super powers (step aside America’s Top Model) when she’s not even trying. It could have been that processional moment in the wedding ceremony when Brian gazed at Jessica approaching to the instrumental sounds of Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” (a la John Cusack in “Say Anything) which nearly caused us to lay down our cameras and begin weeping. Perhaps it was the uber cool reception table markers consisting of mini-posters of Brian and Jessica’s favorite films. Or even the musical selections, particularly the Michael Jackson ones that whipped the crowd into a frenzy. We’re not sure when they totally rocked us. But they did.

To see a full slideshow of Jessica & Brian’s wedding, click HEREMany thanks are due to Patty of the amazing Villa de Buena Vista (have we already said that we want to live there? Like, forever?) Also to the sweetest of sweets, Jenn of Allure Event Designs, who provided fabulous wedding planning. Brides: do yourselves, your moms, and your maid of honor (as well as your hubby-to-be) a BIG favor and hire a wedding planner like Jenn… you’ll be glad you did!). Chef Charlie prepared scrumptious dining, including the tastiest chicken we have ever tasted– seriously. And of course, the talented and seamless Andy Morris kept the special moments transitioning well and the guests alive and hopping on the dance floor.  And last but certainly not least-, props to our associate photographer Ian Gonzaga with the most excellent skills!

Kristi and Ron are our newest super hereos, and here’s why:  Reason One: Ron can fly (assisted with propellors and gasoline and other such necessities, but still he can fly).  Reason Two:  Kristi can dance (as in, competetively and breathtakingly).  Reason Three:  Kristi and Ron can time travel (back to the 1930’s as this first set of pictures prove).  Oh, and did we mention Ron also sings opera?

We had a blast with them in Santa Ana, flying to Catalina in a private airplane – piloted by Ron (and Kristi for a short time), and then hanging in downtown Orange.  Why is our job so cool?   Learn more about Ron’s cool job at  his own website.
